Unbe-flipping-lievable...

So the doc just phoned back. He explained that when the receptionist said there was nothing in the tests, she meant no bacteria or bugs or anything. There was an elevated white cell count (is that what the cloudy stuff was?).

So I should just carry on with my treatment.

Treatment you say? What treatment is that then?

Apparently there is a prescription waiting for me at the surgery. I should have been given it while I was waiting on Monday. But I wasn't. And apparently that's my fault.

Arsehole.

Book "me-me"...

Stoled from that there Helly.

1) Shakespeare or the Bible.
Mista Shakuspeer.

2) Most romantic moment in fiction.
Hmmmm I just finished The Time Traveller's Wife, so that is featuring quite strongly at the moment. I love the way he's finding out about things that she already knows cos he told her when she was a little girl.

3) Favourite word?
Didymous!

4) Most overrated writer?
Hmmm is it sacriledge to say Steven King? I do love some of his stuff. But some of it is complete pants.

5) Most underrated writer
Alice Hoffman. I cannot believe it took me 26 years to find her.

6) Best meal in literature
Some of the food in Time Traveller's Wife sounded pretty good!

7) Favourite novel in translation
Was "Life of Pi" in another language first?

8) Favourite children's book
The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton! Or the Hobbit.

9) Books by your bedside
Usually the last five or six I have read, but always Weaveworld by Clive Barker.

10) Sexiest book
Hmmm. I dunno. Don't tend to read those sorts of books. Laurell K Hamilton's stuff got a bit raunchy, but it was straight stuff.

I've been feeling under the weather since Saturday. First, I had beefy wee, and then I developed a headache, so I though I must be a bit dehydrated. Drank lots of water/squash. Headache got worse and worse, throbbing in time with my pulse - really bad.

Went for a lie down, got up to support Paddy through the early hours of the blogathon, went back to bed at around 2:30.

Woke up next morning, head was still bad, desperate for a wee. Got to the loo, and not much happened. Really strong smelling, dark orange wee. About a millilitre of it. Five minutes later, I went again and got a bit more out, but not normal.

Just the smell of what I'm sure was a lovely dinner made me feel sick. so I went back to bed, got up after Paddy finished the blogathon and collapsed in bed to make sure P (foster kid) was OK, until he went home. Back to bed! Got up to make myself a sandwich but took a bite and couldn't face the rest. Lots of water all day.

Monday - still bad, phoned the docs, went down to give a sample. Was very smelly and cloudy. Yuk. Was told they'd test it there and then, and I'd be given some antibiotics. Well, I sat in the waiting room for ages, and eventually the receptionist said it had got to go the lab for more tests. Went home and went back to bed. Got up in the afternoon and felt a bit better, took some painkillers, kept the headache at bay.

Tuesday - woke up feeling awful, but come the afternoon, I felt much better. Head almost fine, but still not much weeing going on! Oh well.

So today, I'm back at work. I just went for my first wee of the day, slow to start but quick to finish. No results from the docs yet. *sigh*

And to top it all off, I'm getting a coldsore. First one for aaaaages. Obviously taking advantage of the fact that I'm feeling under the weather. I have no zovirax or acyclovir, so i put some aftershave on it - ouch! - for now.

What do you lot use on coldsores?
